Berenice Verdugo is a rising senior at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, majoring in Global Business with a concentration in Management. She chose this field of study because it uniquely combines business administration preparation with language studies and meaningful overseas work or study experiences. This past spring break, Berenice participated in such an experience by traveling to Quebec, Canada, where she gained valuable insights into conducting business in different countries with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Berenice's hometown is Crescent City, Florida, where her service and academic journey began. She has been serving her community and church since she was seven years old. Berenice's family works in green plant agriculture, including the collection of deer moss, Spanish moss, vines, and packaging plants in nurseries for shipping. She also worked in this field. Berenice attended the Redlands Christian Migrant Association in Seville, Florida, and aspires to start a non-profit organization to apply the knowledge and skills she has acquired.
