Luz Vazquez is a first-generation college student studying Public Policy with a minor in Leadership to Organizations at Michigan State University. She has a background as a farmworker, migrating from Florida to Michigan. Growing up, Luz picked a variety of crops, including strawberries, squash, jalapeños, and blueberries, enduring extreme weather conditions from sunrise to sunset.

Luz attended the Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) from infancy until the age of five. RCMA was like a second home to her, where she learned to walk, speak, and develop essential skills, and most importantly, it was where she first learned to speak English.

Dedicated to advocating for migrant farmworker awareness, Luz recently collaborated with peers to create an exhibition titled "Las Alas Invisibles: The Unseen Wings" to honor and recognize the migrant farmworker community at MSU for National Farmworker Awareness Week.
