My summer in Washington, DC, was guided by the three Cs—Courage, Competence, and Connection. I formed strong bonds with diverse fellow interns, gained valuable skills at the United Farm Workers (UFW), and faced challenges with courage and support. A mentor does not have to be someone who only helps you in your career but someone who also helps you emotionally. In a little as five weeks, since I met Rob,  he became a mentor I will forever cherish and I am so thankful that I met him.  “God knew I needed you”.
