FFWR Press Releases
As recipients of the USDA Farm and Food Worker Relief Grant, the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association takes all efforts to distribute payments to farmworkers very seriously. In doing so, we find it pertinent to be transparent in an effort to keep prospective beneficiaries up to date with where we are in the process and how they can receive their well-deserved relief payments. The following press releases are available to those seeking updates from NMSHSA regarding the FFWR program.
Farm and Food Workers Relief Grant Program Update
After two years of working with 15 different organizations to distribute approximately $650 million, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now in the latter stages of the Farm and Food Worker Relief (FFWR) Grant Program.
One Year of Relief Payment Distributions
Over the past year, the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association (NMSHSA) has been responsible for overseeing a portion of the Farm and Food Workers Relief (FFWR) grant program. Because of their diligent work, more than 55,000 farmworkers who worked in agriculture during the COVID-19 pandemic have received one-time payments of $600.
